About

Building a space to bring economic growth, tourism, and local business support together at the Confluence

The Castlegar & District Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce we have officially broken ground for a new $8.7 million multi-use, Passive House certified, Mass Timber building, that will operate with 85% reduced emissions. This L-shaped building, located at the former Chamber and Visitors Centre site, will be an incredible, iconic and legacy community space fuelled by community, corporate and government support. However, we still have some work to do, as we have $1.5 million left to raise before opening our doors in spring/summer 2024.

The Confluence will be a 8,300 square foot building that will house the Chamber of Commerce, Destination Castlegar and the West Kootenay Gateway Visitors Centre. It will also include co-working space, a large collective space for community events or gatherings, tech charging stations, boardroom, meeting and office spaces for rent and will be accessible for public use 24/7.

We are thrilled to announce this opportunity for you to be part of creating a legacy for the Castlegar and District and region. Every bit of support helps us to create this iconic space. All donations over $100 are eligible for placement on our Donor Wall following completion of the building and will be eligible for a tax receipt. Tiering will also be in place for various levels of donation. If you would like to discuss different opportunities, such as corporate donations or our "Buy Your Name on a Room" options, please contact us directly.

Thank you for your interest and consideration of support for this incredible new public space.

Thank you,

Tammy Verigin-Burk, Executive Director
